Lebanese PM to Convene Meeting on State Sovereignty and Hezbollah

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced plans to hold a cabinet session next week aimed at discussing the assertion of state sovereignty “over the entire territory by its own power”—a clear reference to the issue of Hezbollah’s weapons. According to reports from Al-Hadath, President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Salam have been engaged in intensive discussions on the matter. The upcoming session is expected to include deliberations on the Hezbollah arms issue, as well as proposals presented by U.S. envoy Tom Barrack.
