Iran lowers military draft age to 12, state TV reports

Iranian Revolutionary Guards have lowered the draft age to 12, according to Iranian state television. The broadcast explained that "due to demand," children as young as 12 can now join to stand at checkpoints and carry out reconnaissance missions. This follows earlier reports from Tasnim news agency that Iran recruited a million fighters in preparation for a potential ground campaign against the United States.
