An assassination attempt targeted the family home of Hassan Karami in Urmia, northwestern Iran, with 4 residential apartments in a high-rise building attacked. Karami serves as deputy head of the operations department in the Iranian police and previously commanded special forces units for nearly a decade. Iranian opposition sources indicate he was a key figure in suppressing protests from 2019 to present. The attack targeted his father's residence.
