IDF eliminates Hezbollah fighter emerging from underground shaft in southern Lebanon

The IDF's 401st Brigade eliminated a Hezbollah fighter who emerged from an underground shaft and opened fire on soldiers during operations in southern Lebanon. Troops returned fire in the close-quarters encounter, killing the fighter with no IDF casualties. Soldiers subsequently located the shaft and discovered maps, firearms, RPG missiles, and equipment for extended stays. Rocket launchers aimed at Israeli territory were also found near the shaft. The IDF states it will continue operating against Hezbollah to prevent harm to Israeli residents.
