Iranian Ambassador Remains in Beirut Despite Lebanese Expulsion Deadline
The Iranian ambassador remains in Beirut despite Lebanon's demand that he leave by yesterday. Israeli Foreign Minister Saar criticized the situation, stating "Lebanon is a virtual country that is in fact occupied by Iran. The Iranian ambassador is drinking his coffee in the Lebanese capital this morning and mocking the 'state' that hosts him." Saar added that Lebanon will not regain independence until it confronts "the Iranian occupation," noting that Hezbollah ministers still serve in Lebanon's government.
