IDF eliminates Hamas battalion sniper commander in central Gaza strike

The IDF eliminated Omar Ahmed Abu Qasem, a Battalion Sniper Commander in Hamas' military wing, in a precise strike in central Gaza on Wednesday. Abu Qasem participated in terror attacks against IDF troops throughout the war. In recent months, he attempted to reestablish Hamas' military wing and advanced additional terror attacks against IDF troops, in violation of the ceasefire agreement. IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.
