UTJ Chairman Says Party Left Government Over Failed Yeshiva Conscription Law
UTJ Chairman MK Rabbi Yitzhak Goldknopf says Prime Minister Netanyahu admitted the "Arrests Law" for yeshiva students "did not succeed," confirming the PM has no intention of regulating yeshiva student status or advancing military conscription legislation. Goldknopf states this is why UTJ left the government, calling the law "just another spin that was never meant to solve anything." He adds that after elections, UTJ will only join a coalition committed to regulating the status of yeshiva students and kollel scholars.
