ZAKA Scandal: Millions Missing and Misused Donations

Documents of the ZAKA organization revealed irregularities and deficiencies raising concerns that tens of millions of shekels donated to the organization have gone missing. Volunteers and family members of employees raised donations that were transferred to unknown destinations and exploited the organization's events to finance vehicles for themselves. The investigation was conducted following suspicions raised by the organization's former president, businessman Eyal Mashiach. (Haartez)
