A Hezbollah operative who attempted to down an Israeli aircraft was eliminated in a precision strike after a failed launch led to a rapid "closing of the circle" by the Israeli Air Force (IAF).
According to the IDF Spokesperson, the operative attempted to fire a small surface-to-air missile at an IAF aircraft providing support to ground forces in Southern Lebanon. The launch failed, causing no damage or injuries to Israeli assets. The operative immediately attempted to flee the launch site on a motorcycle but was targeted and struck by the IAF moments later.
Aerial Threats and Interceptions
The encounter occurred during Operation Lion’s Roar, as IDF forces continue to clear Hezbollah infrastructure in Southern Lebanon. In addition to the failed missile launch, Hezbollah deployed several explosive-laden drones toward IDF ground units today. The IDF reported that there were no injuries among Israeli troops in those attacks.
