Idan Amedi Blasts Fake Viral Quote: "Don't Put Words in Our Mouths"
Israeli singer and IDF hero Idan Amedi is fighting back against viral "fake news" after a political quote was falsely attributed to him. In a powerful statement, Amedi denounces the attempt to weaponize his service for partisan gain, calling it a corruption of the memory of his fallen comrades.

Amedi, who was seriously injured while serving in Gaza, took to his official channels to dismantle the fabrication, calling it "absolute fake news."
"A Lie That Corrupts the Memory of the Fallen"
Opening his phone after the Shabbat to a flood of messages regarding the post, Amedi expressed deep sadness that such a response was even necessary. He emphasized that these types of lies do more than just spread misinformation, they dishonor those who gave their lives.
"A lie like this corrupts the memory of my friends who went into battle and sacrificed their lives for the entire People of Israel, without hesitation and without a second thought," Amedi wrote.
He reminded his followers that his brothers-in-arms came from every sector of Israeli society and held diverse political views. "Some voted one way, some the other, but between them, there was fellowship, respect, and truth. I miss them and those qualities of theirs every single day."
A Warning Ahead of Election Season
Amedi also issued a broader warning as Israel enters what appears to be an increasingly polarized political period. He pleaded with political activists and the public to keep those affected by the war out of partisan bickering.
"Election season is approaching, and with it will come lies and venom from every direction," he cautioned. "I beg of you, leave the bereaved families, the IDF wounded, and the returned hostages out of the equation."
"Verify the Source"
The singer concluded by urging the public to be vigilant and not to share posts that do not come directly from his official pages. He stated clearly that any quote attributed to him that does not feature his own voice or face, or appear on his verified accounts, should be considered a lie.
"Do not try to appropriate us to one side or the other, do not interpret us, and do not put words in our mouths," Amedi wrote. "Please, spread the truth."
