WATCH: IDF deploys multiple Hercules planes to fight fires

The IDF has equipped two Hercules planes, with a third on the way, to drop much needed firefighting material in an effort to contain the fires.

The IDF announced today (Wednesday) that it has two Hercules fighters in the sky dropping vital firefighting materials, with a third plane being prepped, to fight the fires raging throughout the Jerusalem area and beyond.

Multiple countries have promised assistance in the form of helicopters and other vital aid to fight the fires. The Romanian Foreign Minister has promised two planes - one for firefighting and one for logistical support.
