The IDF released this statement:

"A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles from Iran toward the State of Israel.

"The public is asked to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.

"At this time, the IAF is operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.

"The defense is not hermetic, therefore, it is essential to continue following the instructions of the Home Front Command."

Iran reportedly launched about 100 ballistic missiles at Israel. Interception efforts are ongoing.

Israelis are being warned not to report the location of missile impacts or destination so as not to help Iran's targeting efforts.

Magen David Adom said that it has sent out some teams to investigate possible casualties in suspected sites where missiles hit or tried to land. It now reports one woman lightly wounded in the head from shrapnel.

The IDF has sent all citizens and residents a strong message urging them not to leave shelter until further notice.

Fire services report a number of fires breaking out due to the Iranian missile salvo.

The IDF reports that another missile salvo is incoming:

"The attack is ongoing. Dozens of additional missiles were launched toward the State of Israel. You are requested to continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command and the instructions sent to you. The explosions you are hearing are from interceptions or fallen projectiles.

"The IDF repeats and emphasizes not to publish and share the locations and footage of hits.

"The Aerial Defense Array is currently identifying and intercepting launches."

The second salvo has now reached the country and triggered a red color siren.

The Israel Police report property damage from the missiles but no casualties in the areas where they searched for missile fragments.

Three missile impacts have been reported so far from the second salvo.

Magen David Adom reported five physical casualties from the missiles, one moderate and four light. Four people are also being treated for anxiety.

Iran's IRGC claimed that the missile salvo was aimed at "dozens" of military targets including ground and air bases.

Iran has reportedly fired a third wave of 150 missiles, dozens of which have been intercepted.

Israeli sources said that Iran will pay an "intolerable" price for attacking its population centers.

Defense Minister Katz issued a statement regarding the attacks:

"Iran crossed red lines when it dared to fire missiles toward civilian population centers in Israel. We will continue to defend Israeli citizens and ensure that the Ayatollah regime pays a very heavy price for its criminal actions."

Authorities have reported 11 wounded at a missile impact site.

The IDF has now announced that Israeli residents can leave their shelters but must remain near them:

"Following the situational assessment, the Home Front Command published that it is now permitted to leave protected spaces in all areas across the country and to remain near them. You are requested to continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command and the instructions sent to you."

According to Channel 14 News, there are 21 confirmed casualties from the missile strikes: one serious, one trapped in unknown condition, 2 moderately, and the rest lightly.

The IDF Spokesperson said that Iran fired two salvos of less than 100 ballistic missiles at Israel, most of which were intercepted, but some of which struck buildings and injured Israelis.

This is a developing story.
