Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at Ben Gurion Airport with Yaniv Chayun, one of the passengers who subdued the attacker during the terror flight from Dubai.
"I apologize for the blood on my clothes. I asked ten times for the luggage so I could change before meeting you," Chayun said as soon as he saw Netanyahu.
Netanyahu replied: "You don't need to apologize. You are the hero. We are a nation of lions, a nation like a lioness. I look at you and I see a lion, and I see a great hero. Simply unbelievable what you did."
Chayun added that "it will take a long time to recover." He described the moments on the plane: "The lights went out and someone screamed."
He recounted the action that saved the aircraft: "I grabbed the attacker, put him in a chokehold and pulled him out. I called to the Israeli guys who were with us, jumped back in and grabbed the controls. I started pulling them back. I'm seeing 'Air Crash Investigation,'" he said, referring to the documentary series about aviation disasters.
According to him, "the plane started to level out, and then the pilot told me he was taking control."
