On the instructions of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Foreign Ministry director-general Eden Bar-Tal held a briefing this evening for all Israeli ambassadors and mission heads around the world, in the wake of the attempted attack on the Fly Dubai aircraft in the United Arab Emirates.
The briefing presented the current situation and emphasized the message that this was an attempted terror attack against Israelis, the United Arab Emirates and the Abraham Accords, and that terror will not damage the strong relations between Israel and the UAE or regional developments.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, from the moment reports were received about the incident on the Fly Dubai flight this morning, the Foreign Ministry was a partner in the efforts of all Israeli agencies to return the aircraft's passengers safely to Israel, activating the relevant systems in Israel and in Israeli missions around the world.
Alongside the activity in Israel, the Israeli ambassador to the UAE remained in contact with the passengers during their time in Saudi Arabia, assisted in efforts to get them onto the rescue flight, and worked with the relevant parties until their return to Israel.
