Middle East Tensions

KLM Cancels Flights to Israel Until Further Notice

Dutch flag carrier KLM has abruptly scrapped its plans to resume flights to Israel, confirming that all services to Tel Aviv are suspended "until further notice." The airline had previously signaled it would return today, but reversed course at the eleventh hour, citing a shift in "operational feasibility" and the volatile regional security climate.

Dutch airline KLM has confirmed the suspension of all flights to Tel Aviv, Israel, until further notice, citing ongoing security concerns and operational challenges in the Middle East.

The decision comes after initial plans to resume services today (Wednesday) were backtracked. According to KLM's official statement, flights to Tel Aviv were first canceled on January 23-25, 2026, as the airline avoided airspace over Iran, Iraq, Israel, and several Gulf countries as a precautionary measure.

While services to Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia resumed on January 27, and Dubai is set to restart on January 30, no timeline has been provided for Tel Aviv.

Affected passengers are being rebooked on alternative flights or offered refunds and vouchers. KLM emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority, with the situation being closely monitored for potential updates.

This move aligns with broader disruptions faced by European carriers amid heightened regional tensions.
