After Hosting Him, Piers Morgan Lashes Out at Jonathan Sacerdoti, Calling Him an “Israeli Shill”
As Sacerdoti no doubt knows, defending Israel for any reason gets you nowhere (except to be labeled an israeli shill). Kudos to him for going on Piers Morgan and speaking the truth nonetheless.
In a disappointing display of unprofessionalism, British broadcaster Piers Morgan attacked his own guest, respected commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti, labeling him a “slavishly biased Israeli shill” on X shortly after hosting him on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
During the recent episode, Sacerdoti stood out as the most composed and intelligent voice on the panel. While other guests, including Scott Horton, grew heated and relied on conspiracy-laden rhetoric, Sacerdoti remained calm, measured, and consistently evidence-based. He methodically countered exaggerated claims and defended Israel with facts rather than emotion, a stark contrast to the more agitated and one-sided arguments from others on the show.
The show took on a ridiculous tone when Piers demanded that Sacerdoti call out Israel for not announcing their nuclear weapons. He pointedly asked why Iran should surrender their nuclear weapons while Israel gets to stay mum about hers. Sacerdoti pointed out that Iran has not been shy when explaining its real reasons for wanting nuclear weapons, but Piers didn't seem to get it at all.
Sacerdoti later wrote a thoughtful piece in The Spectator, highlighting how the program veered into conspiracy territory and questioning why pro-Israel positions grounded in reality are so often dismissed as “slavish.”
Morgan’s Post-Show Attack
Instead of appreciating a guest who brought clarity and intelligence to a heated debate, Morgan took to X on May 12 with this remark:
“Jonathan Sacerdoti has had 186 columns published in The Spectator since the October 7th 2023 attacks. 185 of them were Israel-related… but NONE of them had headlines critical of Israel. He is a slavishly biased Israeli shill.”
The attack was widely seen as sour grapes after Sacerdoti refused to echo anti-Israel talking points and maintained his composure throughout the discussion.
