Katie Zacharia Holds First White House Briefing: An Honor to Serve President Trump

Katie Zacharia, the newly appointed White House press secretary, conducted her first press briefing and told reporters it is "an honor" to serve President Donald Trump.

Zacharia referenced the rally Trump held Monday evening in Youngstown, Ohio, and praised the president's impact on the American economy.

Trump recently announced Zacharia's appointment as White House press secretary, replacing Karoline Leavitt, who left recently. Zacharia, a communications adviser at Trump's media company, will stand at the center of the administration's public messaging operation and will be responsible for briefing reporters and conveying the president's messages to the public.

Zacharia is an attorney and conservative commentator who has appeared on Fox News programs. Before joining Trump's media company, she served briefly as a spokeswoman at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
