A 35-year-old South Florida resident has been convicted of impersonating a flight attendant and boarding more than 120 commercial flights without paying.

Earlier today, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that Tyron Alexander falsified employment records and used unauthorized access to a secure airport system intended for airline crew members.

According to the indictment, Alexander submitted fraudulent information claiming to work for seven different airlines, including roughly 30 fabricated employee ID numbers and fake employment dates.

Court documents show that between 2018 and 2024, he boarded at least 34 flights for free using these credentials, with a total of over 120 flights taken during his years of deception.

He was found guilty of identity fraud and unlawful access to secure airport areas. His sentencing is scheduled for August 25, and he faces a potential prison term of up to 30 years. The investigation was led by the TSA’s field office in Atlanta, with federal prosecutors in Miami handling the case.
