Danish TV Ad Sparks Outrage: 'Expert' Warns White Couple Against 'Inbreeding' in Viral Promo
Viral spot from state broadcaster draws racism charges, highlighting Europe's tense immigration debates.

A provocative Danish state TV ad has exploded online, drawing accusations of racial propaganda disguised as science education.
The 30-second promo for DR's Evolution series shows a white Danish couple kissing before an "expert" halts them: Their shared genes risk "inbreeding," he warns, crediting historical foreign DNA for disease resistance. He pushes for "exotic" partners, and the woman smiles curiously. Originally from 2020, it's being re-aired now amid shifting politics.
This jars with Denmark's 2014 "Do It For Denmark" campaign, which humorously urged couples, often interracial, to boost birth rates. Critics link the ad to pro-immigration pushes, as foreign-born residents hit 16.3% in a decade, alongside a 30% violent crime spike.
It echoes Western ads overrepresenting minorities: UK's 83% white population sees Black actors (4%) in over 50% of spots, per Channel 4 data. Mixed-race couples dominate despite comprising just 10% of unions. Reform MP Sarah Pochin's critique of "ads full of Black people" drew "racist" fire from Labour's Wes Streeting. Yet white-focused ads, like Sidney Sweeney's "good genes" spot, face "Nazi" backlash.
Supporters call it playful evolutionary insight on genetic diversity. But detractors see anti-white bias fueling immigration debates. As Denmark leans right, this ad risks amplifying populist backlash.
