Elias Rodriguez is the D.C. murderer: A revolutionary turned killer with a radical agenda

Elias Rodriguez, a young resident of Chicago, Illinois, was named as the murderer in the attack at the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., during which Yaron Lischinski and Sara Milgram, two employees of the Israeli embassy were murdered on Thursday night.

Rodriguez shouted "Free Palestine" before shooting the young couple. According to media reports in the country, Elias participated in demonstrations for the Gaza Strip throughout the country and was a registered member of the Liberation and Socialism Party, a far-left organization calling for a violent revolution in the United States.

Rabbi Levi Shem Tov of Washington told Reuters that he had come to the scene of the shooting to express his support. "Our community is shocked, and those who find out about it tomorrow morning, I'm sure will be disappointed, but as a community, we will unite with determination. We will overcome this challenge," he said.

Rabbi Shem Tov said that the victims participated in events at his synagogue, including a recent Purim celebration. "It's very sad to see that instead of these people coming to the ultimate celebration of their lives, as they were about to get engaged, they're being shot dead in the street just because of who they are," he said.
