Noa Argamani joins venture capital fund after Gaza captivity

Noa Argamani, who survived eight months in Hamas captivity, has officially joined the Israeli-American venture capital fund Vine Ventures after completing a short internship with the firm.

Argamani was kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, together with Avinatan Or, and was freed in June 2024 in Operation Arnon. In an interview with Business Insider, she explained her decision to enter the venture capital world and her plans in the new role.

"At this stage, if I want to learn and make an impact, a venture capital fund is the place for me. I want to be surrounded by people with big dreams," Argamani said.

She said she intends to use the position to help Israeli companies grow: "My mission is to help Israeli startups reach the market and break boundaries."

Before her abduction, Argamani was studying at Ben-Gurion University, but her studies were cut short by the events of October 7. After her release from captivity and return to her studies, she built artificial-intelligence projects analyzing anti-Israel rhetoric in various countries. She also presented a plan to establish a company that would assist children on the autism spectrum.

Argamani said that after finishing her degree, she received several job offers but decided not to return to a software development track. "But I felt that going back to software development would be a waste. I wanted work with impact, to change something in the world," she explained.

Eric Reiner, founder of Vine Ventures, approached Argamani in April to join the fund as an intern. Now, after the internship period, she is officially becoming part of the fund.
