The spike in Israeli airline shares follows the dramatic incident aboard the Flydubai flight, which made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia after the co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain and attempted to crash the aircraft.
Initial findings point to a suspected suicide attempt in which the pilot sought to bring down the plane with all aboard, and Israeli officials are assessing the possibility that this was an actual terror attack. According to reports, the co-pilot repeatedly stabbed the captain. As the attack began, crew members and passengers broke through the cockpit door and overpowered the assailant.
