Neria Leiter, son of Israel's ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter, remains unconscious two months after he was critically wounded in the ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint. But doctors report he is now breathing on his own and showing slight movement in his hands and legs. The family is asking the public to continue davening for his refuah.

Leiter was critically injured in the terror attack on Route 443 near the Maccabim checkpoint two months ago. He arrived at Shaare Zedek Medical Center with a severe head injury and underwent life-saving procedures in the trauma unit, followed by complex brain surgery that lasted several hours. At the time, the hospital said his condition was extremely critical and his life was in danger.

Neria is a reservist who returned to active duty after his older brother, Major (res.) Moshe Yedidya Leiter Hy"d, fell in battle in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza in November 2023. Despite the family's loss, Neria went back to reserve service and has served hundreds of days on various fronts since October 7.
