Israeli police announced Tuesday that they have solved the murder of Yanis Yoshvaev, head of the so-called "Caucasian mafia," who was gunned down at a gas station in Caesarea last month. An indictment will be filed in the coming days against a 54-year-old resident of Beit Shean identified as the primary suspect in the killing.
According to police, the suspect was taken into custody shortly after the murder took place. Yoshvaev was considered one of the most significant targets for Israeli law enforcement in the Sharon region, a central figure with deep connections within the Caucasian organized crime network.
Following the prosecutor's declaration, the State Attorney's Office is expected to file formal charges against the suspect in the coming days, alongside a request to extend his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
