A Tel Aviv man in his 40s was indicted Tuesday on charges of breaking into an office building and theft, following a dawn burglary in the city's business district last August.
The incident occurred on August 30, 2026, in the early morning hours, when the suspect entered an office building on Carlebach Street. According to the indictment filed by the Tel Aviv District Police prosecution unit, the man took advantage of the late-night hours when the offices were empty, entered the building unimpeded, and made off with property valued at thousands of shekels. Among the stolen items were a scooter and a high-end speaker.
Security camera footage from the scene, released with this report, shows the suspect wearing a motorcycle helmet to conceal his identity, dressed in a black shirt, shorts, and light-colored shoes, with a backpack on his back apparently used to carry some of the loot. The video captures him moving cautiously through the corridors, handling equipment, and eventually preparing to flee the building with the stolen property, wheeling or carrying the scooter out the doors.
Following the initial report, investigators from the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Yarkon District launched an intensive investigation. Detectives collected physical evidence, analyzed forensic materials, and reviewed hours of security footage to piece together the puzzle and identify the unknown burglar. Through this determined work, officers succeeded in deciphering the suspect's identity. Based on the unambiguous findings that emerged in the investigation file, the court issued an arrest warrant against him, and shortly thereafter he was located and arrested for questioning by patrol officers from the station.
Tuesday morning, the Tel Aviv District Police prosecution unit completed the full indictment, charging him with the criminal offenses of breaking into a non-residential building and committing theft. Alongside the indictment, prosecutors filed an explicit request to keep the defendant behind bars until the conclusion of all legal proceedings against him, arguing that he poses a risk to public safety and that there is a real concern of repeat offenses.
