Officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Yarkon district arrested a Jaffa resident in his 50s on suspicion of a systematic theft spree from businesses across Tel Aviv. According to the suspicion, the man carried out 22 separate thefts over recent months, with a total value running into thousands of shekels.
The investigation began after a series of thefts were reported from various businesses in the city. The probe revealed that the suspect would arrive at stores repeatedly, fill bags with large quantities of food products, beverages and other items, and walk out without paying.
In several instances, the suspect attempted to flee even after employees noticed what he was doing. Investigators at the Lev Tel Aviv station succeeded in linking the suspect to 22 separate theft incidents.
