A recent court ruling has exposed the reckless criminal conduct of a repeat offender who chose to drink alcohol in quantity, get behind the wheel despite a ten-year driving ban, and spark a nerve-wracking night chase through the streets of Be'er Sheva that ended only when he was trapped in a dead-end alley.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, when an officer who spotted a suspicious vehicle signaled the driver to stop using a flashlight. Instead of complying, the driver continued his reckless driving and forced the officer to jump back quickly to avoid being struck. With blue lights flashing and a warning siren blaring, police continued in dogged pursuit until he was blocked in a street with no exit.
In a desperate and absurd move, the driver tried to destroy the evidence and immediately moved from the driver's seat to the back seat, in a pathetic attempt to evade responsibility for his actions.
