A week after a glass-throwing incident at a Bnei Brak restaurant during a visit by Yachad party chairman Naftali Bennett, the Tel Aviv District Police prosecution unit filed a serious indictment against the suspect. Alongside the indictment, prosecutors requested house arrest until the conclusion of legal proceedings.

The incident took place Thursday night (26 Elul), when Bennett was at Moti's restaurant on Matzada Street in Bnei Brak, speaking with local residents. During the meeting, a 26-year-old Bnei Brak resident arrived at the scene and began acting violently.

According to the indictment, the suspect threw a glass salt shaker forcefully toward the table where Bennett was seated. The shaker struck two women who are members of the former prime minister's staff. Not satisfied, the suspect immediately threw a second glass object resembling a shaker, which fell and shattered near the table.

Officers from the Bnei Brak–Ramat Gan station in the Dan District and Border Police fighters from the Central Unit, who were securing the visit and present at the scene, responded quickly, arrested the suspect on the spot and prevented further escalation. The suspect was transferred for interrogation at the police station, at the end of which he was jailed, and his detention was extended from time to time by the court.

With the investigation complete, police filed an indictment charging the defendant with simple assault, attempted simple assault and conduct liable to breach the public peace.

Following an appeal, the Tel Aviv District Court shortened the suspect's detention from Monday to Sunday (27 Elul), after the Magistrate's Court had extended his detention until Monday.

The Israel Police responded to the incident, stating that it "will act resolutely against incidents of violence and will prosecute to the fullest extent anyone involved."

The Beyachad party claimed at the time of the incident that two objects thrown at Bennett struck the head of one of his female staff members, and she was treated at the scene. Bennett released footage from the incident in which he is seen rising from his seat angrily and aking police officers to make an arrest.
