A 23-year-old woman from Milwaukee walked into her former high school, introduced herself as a substitute teacher, and spent the day cursing at students, mocking their weight and appearance, and making racist remarks.
According to the indictment, Amy Jones arrived at the school on September 24, presented herself as a substitute teacher, and entered a classroom without anyone properly verifying her identity. She had visited the school about a week earlier and managed to get past security by blending in with students.
During the lessons, according to student testimony, Jones cursed, played loud music, and mocked students for their weight, ethnicity, and appearance. Among other things, she called one student a "fat kid" and told two students they looked like the type who might carry out a school shooting.
Students reported her behavior to the school staff, and once it became clear she was not a certified teacher, she was escorted off the premises by police.
In her interrogation, Jones admitted she came to the school because she was bored, adding that she "hates kids" and just wanted to amuse herself. She was charged with six counts, including impersonating a public official and exposing minors to offensive content.
