The IDF said the coming strike in Beirut today (Thursday) is aimed at destroying underground Hezbollah drone production facilties which threaten Israel and its defense forces.

Here is the full statement:

"The IDF is set to attack in the near future several underground infrastructures for drone production that were established in the heart of the civilian population in Dahieh, Beirut.

"Despite the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, the IDF has identified that the air unit of the Hezbollah terrorist organization (127) is operating to produce many thousands of drones, under the direction and funding of Iranian terror elements.

"After Hezbollah made extensive use of drones as a central component in its attacks on the State of Israel, the terrorist organization is working to strengthen its drone manufacturing industry ahead of the next war with Israel.

"This activity constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. The Hezbollah terrorist organization is creating challenges for the State of Lebanon and thereby harming the implementation of the understandings.
