Update (details on the attack)
A Palestinian terror shooting attack occurred Tuesday night near the Israeli community of Peduel in the Samaria region, seriously wounding a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s. The victims were traveling in a private vehicle on Route 446 when terrorists opened fire, hitting both occupants.
MDA paramedic Erez Fogel, one of the first responders at the scene, described the harrowing situation: "We left with the ambulance from a nearby community and arrived quickly at the scene. We saw a private vehicle on the side of the road with signs of gunfire. Inside the car was the driver, a woman in her 30s, unconscious and suffering from severe gunshot wounds. In the passenger seat was a man around 40 years old, fully conscious, also suffering from gunshot wounds. He was trying to treat the injured woman next to him and was attempting to stop her bleeding. We pulled both of them out of the vehicle and gave them medical treatment. We transported the woman to the hospital in a mobile intensive care unit while performing resuscitation efforts, her condition was critical. The man was also evacuated in another intensive care unit, fully conscious and in serious condition."
The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, who is currently on a diplomatic visit in Washington, D.C., has been closely following developments from abroad. “Dagan halted his schedule of meetings and is holding ongoing consultations with the IDF and security officials,” said a council spokesperson.
