A child was struck by a bus Thursday evening at Kikar HaShluchim in Beitar Illit in what could have ended in tragedy. B'chasdei Shamayim, the boy sustained only light injuries and is in good condition.
Hatzalah crews who were called to the scene treated the child on site before evacuating him to hospital for further examination. According to reports, he is expected to be released shortly.
Security-camera footage shows the boy running across the road in a marked pedestrian crossing when the bus speeds into the junction and strikes him. Though the impact appeared severe, b'chasdei Shamayim the incident ended with the child's condition defined as light.
The accident joins a series of road incidents that have occurred across the country in recent days, underscoring the need for heightened caution on busy roads and junctions.
