The Pittsburgh Rebbe, known for his ties to Agudas Yisrael, gave a warm blessing this week to MK Avi Maoz, chairman of the Noam party, wishing him success in his work for the Jewish people.

During the meeting, the Rebbe told MK Maoz: "I have heard a great deal about you. Everyone knows that you truly care for Yiddishkeit. I very much want you to succeed - this is very important. I bless you from the heart."

The Pittsburgh Rebbe's words add to a string of recent meetings and blessings Maoz has received from chareidi rabbanim and communal leaders. Among them: HaRav Shaul Alter shlita, leader of the Pnei Menachem kehilla; HaRav Yitzchak Barda shlita, rosh of the Yitzchak Yeranen institutions in Ashkelon; HaRav Avraham Levi shlita, rosh of the Nachal Novea institutions in Be'er Sheva; HaRav Boaz Yurkowitz shlita, rav of the Chabad kehilla in Lod; and HaRav Dekel Cohen and HaRav Lior Cohen shlita, sons-in-law of HaRav Meir Mazuz zt"l.

Throughout this Knesset term, MK Maoz has worked steadily to strengthen Jewish identity and preserve the Jewish character of education in Israel. At the same time, he has stood repeatedly with bnei yeshiva and lomdei Torah, advancing the interests of the Torah community. That record has earned him respect in parts of the chareidi world, which see him as a faithful partner in the struggle for Jewish values and the standing of the Torah world.
