Advisory Committee Clears Major General Gofman for Mossad Chief Appointment

An advisory committee has submitted its supplementary opinion to the Prime Minister regarding the appointment of Major General Roman Gofman as head of the Mossad. A majority of committee members determined there was no flaw in Gofman's integrity, and their confidence in him was substantially strengthened by additional materials provided. The Prime Minister rejected the minority opinion calling for further examination, stating Gofman has been subjected to an unnecessary ordeal. Netanyahu expects the Supreme Court to reject petitions and allow Gofman to assume the post immediately upon the current director's term conclusion, amid a war on seven fronts.
