A wave of Ukrainian drone strikes hit strategic facilities across Russian territory overnight, with reports of damage to an oil refinery in Samara Oblast and a military food production plant in Bryansk Oblast. The Konservosushprod factory in the city of Starodub, which supplies canned goods and ration packs to the Russian army, was struck by drones and caught fire, according to local reports. The facility produces preserved food and field rations for Russian forces, and the hit may disrupt the army's logistical supply chain.

Air defense systems were active around Moscow through the night, with the city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, reporting multiple attempted strikes on the capital and interceptions by defense batteries. The governor of Samara Oblast confirmed that a drone attack was underway in the region and that air defenses were engaged, but did not release official details on the extent of damage to the refinery. No formal assessment of the impact on production capacity has been issued.

The strikes come against the backdrop of a severe fuel crisis in Russia caused by earlier attacks on refineries and oil infrastructure. Updated figures show that fewer than half of Russia's fuel stations can supply petrol regularly, and the shortage has driven a sharp shift in consumer behavior: sales of electric and hybrid vehicles have doubled.

Ukraine has intensified strikes on energy infrastructure and military facilities inside Russia in recent months. In late October, the Proton plant in Oryol, which manufactures electronic and optoelectronic components for Russian missile systems including the Iskander-M ballistic missile, was reported hit.

Ukrainian strikes are concentrated on two main axes: energy infrastructure, aimed at disrupting the Russian economy and complicating fuel supply, and military facilities and weapons plants, intended to degrade Russia's production capacity. The attacks are carried out using Ukrainian-made drones and cruise missiles, and have penetrated deep into Russian territory.
