Israel's ambassador to the US gives painful update on his son Neriah, critically wounded in a ramming attack at Maccabim checkpoint two weeks ago

Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter

Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, gave another update on Friday on the condition of his son Neriah, who was critically wounded in a ramming attack at the Maccabim checkpoint on Route 443 about two weeks ago.

"Neriah is still on a ventilator," Ambassador Leiter wrote. "Please continue to daven for his recovery, perhaps by next Simchas Torah he will be able to rejoice together with his wife and children."

Over the past week, as word of Neriah's condition has spread, a widespread call has gone out to the public to increase tefillos for the refuah of Neriah Dov ben Chana and to set aside time each day for Tehillim.

In a message, the family asks the public to dedicate even one minute a day to tefillah: "We are calling on each and every person to dedicate just one minute each day for his complete recovery, to say a perek of Tehillim or a short tefillah, so that the Borei Olam will sweeten the attribute of judgment with the attribute of mercy, and send him a refuah sheleimah from Heaven."
