Organisers of memorial events at the Nova massacre site in Re'im car park have issued a clear statement this evening (Thursday) confirming that all planned events will go ahead in full, after false reports claiming the events would be cancelled spread on social media.

The events at the site, prepared for Simchas Torah, began last night, the night of Hoshana Rabbah. A festive tefillah will take place there tomorrow morning, and the highlight is expected on Motzei Shabbos, when moving Hakafos Shniyos ceremonies will be held at the location.

Freed hostages Bar Kupershstein and Avitar David are expected to attend the event and will join in the simcha of the chag together with thousands. Bereaved families, those wounded in body and soul, IDF soldiers and residents of the Gaza border communities are also taking an active part in the event.

Participation in all the events is open to the public and free of charge. The organisers asked to convey a message of unity and sensitivity, and called on the public to respect the different ways in which each family chooses to commemorate their loved ones and celebrate the chag.
