Israeli attorney David Peter issued a sharp warning on Tuesday regarding the conduct of Knesset member Zvi Sukkot, cautioning that such incidents could carry significant consequences for Israel on the international stage.
"There are elected officials who unfortunately have not internalized that they are no longer a protest movement—they are the government, and that comes with responsibility and maturity," Peter wrote in reference to Sukkot.
Peter expressed concern that Israeli public figures are not adequately considering how their actions are perceived abroad. "They don't understand the international perspective on events like these. I foresee a very dark future from an international standpoint," he stated.
The attorney also addressed developments in Europe and the United States, expressing worry about the direction events are taking. "The developments in Europe and the U.S. are not exactly reassuring," he noted.
