Just minutes before the voting on the Primaries in the Likud was scheduled to begin, the Lod District Court issued a dramatic ruling, granting an injunction to halt internal elections.
The Social Forum, alongside the National Federation of Labor, stated that this is a victory for common sense and they will not allow the elections within the Likud movement to be stolen. They added that the Social Forum, alongside the National Federation of Labor, will continue to serve as the shield for the 150,000 Likud members.
Earlier, the Likud court ordered the removal of the words 'the Prime Minister's proposal' from the second proposal up for a vote. The decision stated that the words 'the proposal of the PM and Chairman of the movement' must be removed, and the question should simply ask whether to allow serving or former MKs, ministers, and deputy ministers to run in the districts, without creating a false impression that it is the proposal of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the movement.
