BREAKING: Two Children in Critical Condition After Stabbing in Beit Shemesh

Two children were injured in a stabbing incident on Emek HaZeitim Street in Beit Shemesh Monday.

The children are in very serious condition.

Large rescue and police forces arrived at the scene and are providing medical care to the injured. Police have classified the incident as criminal in nature, not a nationalist incident.

Early reports indicate that a neighbor stabbed and/ shot them.

Further details are being established as emergency personnel continue response operations.

MDA Statement:

At 4:40 p.m., MDA dispatch in the Jerusalem area received a report of two children injured on Emek HaZeitim Street in Beit Shemesh. MDA paramedics are providing medical treatment at the scene to two children with injuries, including one who is unconscious. This is a preliminary report. Further updates to follow.

United Hatzalah EMTs Yaakov Jungreis, Moshe Siroka, and Eliya Assulin reported: "We were informed at the scene that the injuries were the result of violence. With the assistance of additional responders, we provided initial medical treatment to two patients, aged 5 and 6, who were in critical and serious condition. They were subsequently transported to the hospital for further care. United Hatzalah's Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit provided emotional first aid due to the nature of the incident."
