Cabinet Secretary Proposes Extending Compulsory Military Service to 32 Months

Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs told the Knesset that the government has received multiple letters from the Chief of Staff urging an extension of compulsory military service to 36 months. Fuchs stated that due to the IDF's operational needs, the most urgent step is to set the service period at 32 months now, with discussion of a further extension to 36 months to take place after the elections.
