Journalist: Change bloc "hypocrites" on draft

Michael Shemesh attacks Change Bloc for staying silent as coalition talks reportedly include compromises with chareidi parties on the draft law

Channel 13’s Michael Shemesh Accuses Change Bloc Leaders of “Political Hypocrisy” Over Draft Law Silence

Channel 13 journalist Michael Shemesh has launched a sharp attack on the leaders of the change bloc, accusing them of "political hypocrisy" for staying silent as reports emerge of willingness to compromise on the draft law in exchange for forming a government.

In a post on social media, Shemesh pointed to the gap between the promises made during the election campaign and the conduct now taking shape in coalition negotiations with the chareidi parties.

"Let's be honest: anyone who led the campaign to 'dismantle the chareidi state' and is silent tonight is committing an act of political hypocrisy," he wrote.

Shemesh called on elected officials to take responsibility and not hide behind vague language during the negotiations: "If you want to trample on an election promise, at least stand before your voters and explain."

He closed with a pointed jab at the disappearance of those same politicians from the public arena the moment the polls closed: "It's amazing how, the second the ballot boxes shut, some of the politicians who didn't rest for a moment just evaporated!"
