COGAT Head Maj. Gen. Rassan Alian Requests to Step Down

Defense Minister Israel Katz approved a series of general appointments in the General Staff yesterday but did not name a successor to Major General Rassan Alian. Following this, Alian requested to end his tenure as Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). The COGAT position is considered pivotal, particularly in the coming years, as it carries out government policy in Gaza and the West Bank. Sources close to Alian declined to comment on the matter.
