Commissioner Criticizes Supreme Court Justices for Issuing Ruling During Sabbath

The Commissioner for Complaints Against Judges criticized Supreme Court Justices Yitzhak Amit, Khaled Kabub, and Alex Stein for issuing a judicial decision on demonstrations during the Sabbath. The Commissioner stated there was no urgency requiring the ruling during Sabbath and that alternative procedural solutions should have been found. "The expectation from a panel of Supreme Court justices is that they will be cloaked both 'in their Jewish robe' and 'in their democratic robe,'" the Commissioner said, adding that the proceedings should safeguard fundamental values of the State of Israel with the Sabbath as a cornerstone.
