Defense Minister Katz Vows to Shut Down Army Radio After Court Ruling

Defense Minister Israel Katz says he "completely disagrees" with the High Court's decision to invalidate the government's move to shut down Army Radio (Galatz). The Court ruled the decision was based on "improper and impermissible consideration" and placed its judgment above elected ministers who unanimously believed there is no place for a civilian radio station with political content within the IDF. Katz stated that since the Court confirmed the government has authority to make the decision and rejected claims that primary legislation is required, he will complete the shutdown process if his party wins the upcoming elections.
