Eisenkot Praises Edelstein's Likud Exit, Calls for Others to Follow

Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot publicly praised Yuli Edelstein's decision to leave Likud, calling on other party members to follow his example. Eisenkot said he hopes Edelstein will serve as a model for others in Likud "who are not willing to endanger the security of the state and promote draft-dodging in the name of narrow politics." He noted their collaboration on advancing a conscription law and passing Israel's National Security Strategy Law, stating "It is time for leadership that sees only the good of Israel before its eyes."
