An explosive device detonated in a passenger minivan on a busy commercial street in Jaramana, a suburb of Damascus with a significant Druze population, on Thursday, killing at least two people and wounding multiple others, according to Syrian state media and eyewitness reports.
Casualty figures vary across official sources. According to the Syrian ambulance service, the blast killed two people and wounded 13. Syria's Health Ministry provided a lower count, stating at least seven people sustained injuries in the explosion. An Associated Press journalist present at the scene reported observing at least one body recovered from the vehicle wreckage.
