Finland joins France's nuclear deterrence framework to strengthen European security

Finnish President Alexander Stubb announced that Finland has joined France's nuclear deterrence, a move aimed at strengthening European security and Europe's responsibility for its own defense. The arrangement does not replace or overlap with NATO's nuclear deterrence, and Finland does not intend to station nuclear weapons on its territory during peacetime.
