Five IDF Soldiers Seriously Wounded in Northern Gaza

The IDF confirmed Monday that five soldiers were seriously injured in fighting in northern Gaza earlier today. IDF forces from the Kfir Reconnaissance Unit engaged in operations in Gaza City encountered heavy resistance Monday afternoon. Around 5:25 p.m., soldiers reported a close-range attack in which terrorists affixed explosives to a tank, followed by additional gunfire from a sniper position. The incidents left a medical IDF officer, a tank officer and 3 tank soldiers seriously injured. Six additional soldiers sustained minor injuries and were evacuated to a hospital for treatment. Two terrorists were killed in the Magan area, and a manhunt is underway for the remaining three assailants. IDF units continue to secure the area while pursuing the armed terrorists.
