Serious Allegations Against Former IDF Leadership

Winter: Eisenkot Fabricated Data on Gaza

Ofer Winter, leader of the Amcha Yisrael party, alleged that under Gadi Eisenkot's tenure as IDF Chief of Staff, the military misrepresented intelligence to civilian leadership to prevent military action in Gaza. Eisenkot has not yet responded.

At a gathering of activists from the Amcha Yisrael party, party chairman Ofer Winter leveled serious accusations against former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot. Winter claimed that during Eisenkot's tenure, the military deliberately misrepresented data to political decision-makers in order to avoid launching operations in the Gaza Strip. He cited a specific Friday when border disturbances occurred, asserting that the IDF Spokesperson's official statement that day grossly understated the severity of events.

According to Winter's account, on one particular Friday marked by the usual border disruptions, the IDF Spokesperson issued a statement to the media declaring it "the quietest Friday in three months." However, Winter said that when he reviewed the actual data that evening, he discovered the opposite was true, it had been "the most severe Friday in three months."

Winter characterized the discrepancy as deliberate rather than accidental, designed to influence political decision-making. "Do you understand the madness? Lying to the political echelon, arranging reality as convenient, all to avoid a military strike in Gaza," he stated. As of publication, no response has been issued on behalf of Eisenkot regarding these allegations.
